Kami Kinard

Children’s Writer & Teaching Artist

Hello and welcome.
Presumably, you stopped by to find out more about me. I love to write, but I don’t like writing about myself much.  This is why I stopped keeping a journal right after my life started getting interesting. But I never really did stop writing. I’ve always written poetry, but I’ve played with other forms too.  Basically, if it is a creation constructed of words, I like building it!

I am teaching a new writing class at TCL starting in August. Are you writer enough for it?

Brutal Critiques: Intensive critiquing class for writers with the guts to receive truly candid feedback.  Afraid the instructor will be mean?  No worries!  She’s enthusiastic about helping strengthen your manuscripts.  Afraid she’ll be honest?  Well, think twice about signing up. This course is about developing the best possible manuscript through careful and sometimes painful editing.  It’s about your words, not your feelings. Be prepared to share writing samples in class.  No handholding or back patting. Crybabies need not apply.

Class begins on August 26. 6-8 pm For details about registration go to: http://www.tcl.edu/Continuing_Education/critiques.asp

Old Blog: The Hot Pink Bike Route

My new blog is now an old blog. As promised on the blog, I chronicled my bike route for a school year. I was glad when the year was over! But I learned tons about blogging: www.hotpinkbike.wordpress.com
